The enterprise of Dr. Zafar, Pragati School epitomises his ideals and values of education. A dedicated teacher from a vibrantly young age, Dr. Zafar was not content to view his job only as a profession. To him teaching was a passion, a mission of his life. More than a decade and a half of devoted service to the students instilled in him the desire to make quality education an affordable possibility to all children. He was not alone in his purpose, the school is served by a dedicated group of illustrious entrepreneurs and professional men and women who are eminent in their respective spheres.

The first Institute under Pragati Group was founded in 1996 in a rented building. Two years later the school was shifted to a wholly owned complex. During the following decade one more school, two Teacher Training Colleges; one especially for women, and an STC Institute was established. After another half-a-decade, the growing reputation of the institutions, and the need for meeting the rising demand for one more school founded on the same philosophy made the setting up of Pragati School an inevitable necessity.
